System ResourcesAs for system resources Racon can be used to monitor CPU usage, memory and disk usage, file existence and more. Racon can also monitor the availability of the database server, SMTP, HTTP server or SOAP interface and also supports sophisticated metrics that are the result of the analysis of records in the logfile, execute DB queries, call web services, or execute commands (scripts) at the system level. Comparison represents view of Trask solutions. It is based on practical experiences with monitoring solutions in a higher number of companies in Czech republic.
The first major Racon deployment now monitors the WebSphere MQ, Oracle Service Bus, but also for example the ATMs functionality. Thanks to Racon, the bank got detailed overview of what is going on the critical systems. Racon helps to prevent and solve system outages.
Racon currently monitors the WebSphere MQ and Message Broker and the TIF integration framework. Racon is used as a full-fledged product, some functionalities are integrated with the SyDesk system. There are plans of its future further extension.
Customer monitored the WMQ technologies using the HP tools. Racon, however, proved to be more suitable and flexible from a customer perspective. After the initial training, the customer was able to install and configure the Racon themself. Monitoring currently covers the WebSphere MQ and TIF integration framework.
